$250 Million System Only Effective at Pissing People Off

This is what was flashing on the L train’s new digital signs for the 7 minutes I spent waiting for a train at 1st Avenue this morning. Apparently, it was doing this everywhere along the L train today in both directions… constantly flashing on and off that a train was about to arrive in the station, when in reality, you were about to spend several minutes waiting underground in stifling heat for this invisible train.
I guess this is what the MTA meant when they called this expensive new system ”flashy.”

says:Hiphopopotomus, were you headed to Brooklyn?! I =should= be able to get on at the 1st Av stop headed west, but I’ve given up and now walk the route over to Union Square to transfer uptown in the mornings…
I did notice the other evening that they weren’t even showing the wait times — the signs were staying on the date and time display.
