In Which I Ask My College For Donations
In a shocking turn of events, I got a letter in the mail today from my college alma mater informing me that they owe me a whopping $3.18. The amount is not itemized, and is dated from three months after I graduated. This mysterious chargeback could be anything from a credit on my vending card to a half-hour of work-study from finals week of my senior year. God knows I can’t remember, but six years later, they’re finally getting around to remembering and rather forcibly asking me for my address so they can cut me a check.
I’m wondering if I could use this as leverage for those incessant phone calls I get from the alumni association asking me for donations. I could write on this form, “I’ll take my three dollars back if you promise not to call me five times in two weeks asking me for donations that I cannot afford to make because I’m paying off the education for which you charged me $120,000.”
I will gladly cash the check, considering those loan payments have sucked so much fun out of my life in the past six years. It’ll pay for more than half a beer!

I once got a check for $0.02 from Sprint. No idea why.

Nolan Vasque says:Greetings from Australia. This is a cool blog. Does anyone have any advice about staying out of the friend zone with girls? Honestly I’m sick of girls telling me they just want to be friends. Perhaps I’m being too much of a nice guy?
