I have a party next weekend in which I need to wear an ugly Christmas sweater. Since I’m so fashion-forward, I obviously don’t have any ugly Christmas sweaters. So I thought about who I should ask, and one person came to mind: my mom. So I called her.

“So, I need an ugly Christmas sweater,” I began, ”and… well, I don’t mean to offend you, but you have a lot of ugly Christmas sweaters.”

My mom likes moose, so she has a lot of moose memorabilia around the house, and at least two or three sweaters with moose or other antlered creatures on them. She was not offended, but insisted “they’re not ugly - they’re just kitschy!”

I might rummage through a thift shop this weekend, because the ugly Christmas sweater trend seems to be on the rise lately. I don’t really see the point of investing in a sweater I’m only going to wear once a year, but I have to dress to impress, you know.
