intelligent and unintelligible thoughts about life in these five boroughs

I have no regrets, but this blog was part of a phase of my life that has come to pass.

I may blog elsewhere when I’m ready. When that happens, I’ll be sure to let you all know.

I sincerely apologize to my readers, who I promised would not get a “slow fade,” but that’s exactly what happened. I never said I was good at this blogging thing.

On another note, TRIVIOTIC is moving to TUESDAYS. The terrific treat of alliteration trails the thrill of Triviotic’s Tuesday start. Be there starting this Tuesday.  Check Facebook or this site for further updates.

In the meantime, if you’re looking for something more interesting than a blog that is rarely-if-ever updated, for the love of god, visit the links on the right. Or even better, listen to the podcasts of the greatest radio show on the face of the Earth, Too Beautiful To Live. Luke Burbank and friends have gotten me through a lot lately. I hope they do the same for you.

Thanks for all your support over the years. Maybe I’ll catch you again in another place and time. In the meantime, you can still reach me at chris [at] eastvillageidiot.com.

Some vandal obviously had a bone to pick with P.C. Richard.

Further proof of Duane Reade’s incompetence.

From Professor Thom’s, my thoughts on the World Series exactly.

I would vote for John McCain.

Why? In every major statewide or national race I have ever voted in, the candidate I voted for ultimately lost. Among my choices: Al Gore, Bob Weygand, Andrew Cuomo, Carl McCall, Howard Dean, John Kerry, Peter Clavelle, Jonathan Tasini, John Spencer, and John Edwards.

There is one exception: Eliot Spitzer. And we all know how that turned out.

Luckily, I’m not that superstitious about politics. And I can’t in good conscience vote for McCain under any circumstances.

“Ladies and gentlemen: the next 8th Avenue-bound L Train will depart in approximately… 15 minutes. The following 8th Avenue-bound L Train will depart in approximately… 17 minutes.”

“Aah! A cockroach! What the fuck? Cockroaches can’t go on buses!”

“Who cares if people are still getting on? When the light is green, the bus must go. That’s, like, the law!”

“There isn’t a single psychologist in this city who accepts insurance.”

“Giants going to Super Bowl! amNewYork! Get your amNewYork!”

“The N and R trains always smell awful because they start all the way at Sunset Park.”

“So, it goes, Madison, Lexington, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd.”
