On the Road: This is What I Do On Layovers

April 24, 2008 – 1:01 pm

On my way to Kansas last week, I had a layover at the Milwaukee Airport. I’ve never been to Wisconsin before, and I don’t really intend on going there again anytime soon, so I needed to do something to prove that I had been to Wisconsin.

So I went to the airport gift shop and bought a foam coaster… that looks like cheese… and is shaped like the state of Wisconsin. I believe it’s made from the material used to make Cheeseheads.

This will live on as a glorious memory of my one-hour visit to Wisconsin.

  2. I have a cheesehead. I begged my mom to get one for me when she went to Madison for a conference. It is one of my prized possessions.

  3. Not even kidding, my old roommate one of those coasters. And she’d NEVER BEEN TO WISCONSIN!!! Spooky.

  4. I bought a fridge magnet that looked like a mini cheesehead to remember Madison, WI.

  5. I picked up a Wisconsin refrigerator magnet in the Madison airport, on my way home from some training there. It reads “It’s great in Wisconsin!”, and has a mouse sitting on a block of cheese.

I think I saw the foam coasters there. I saw plenty of other foam things.
