What Did You Do During the Great Google Chat Outage of ‘08?

April 16, 2008 – 3:48 pm

Where were you when it happened? For nearly an hour, messages went unanswered, one-liners were relegated to subject lines, limbs were lost, entire villages were destroyed, and the whole world stopped.

I had to resort to… gasp… e-mailing people! The horror!

Even worse, in some cases, I had to resort to… oh God, not that! Anything but that… AOL Instant Messenger!

  2. I always log into both AIM & Google Chat…crazy, I know.

I also think my supervisor is on to me, she can’t think those orange blinking internet tabs are totally innocuous, can she??

  5. Gchat and portions of blogger are blocked at my office. I assume the gchat failure were part of the odd thing of my being able to edit other peoples blogs yesterday even though I’ve never once signed into them (I chose to not edit things) - all from my job that has blocked it since last year (except yesterday).
