This Stairway Will Be Closed Until We Feel Like Opening It
This stairway on the Brooklyn-bound platform of 1st Avenue station has been closed since February 27th.
“How could that be,” you might ask. “The sign says it closed on March 8th!”
Don’t believe anything the MTA tells you. Rather than just put off the re-opening of the stairway like they did on the other side of the 1st Avenue station, MTA employees decided to be a little more creative this time around.
The sign used to say “2-27-08 to 3-11-08.” Why change just one date when you can change both?
This brings up the age-old question: if the MTA just ignores a sign, was it ever really there?

*Red says:I love when it is rush hour and you get off the packed train there and then you have to wait in line to get up the stairs. Yesterday two guys tried to sneak around to the right and cut into line and no one was having it.
