Blog ISO Someone From Wyoming
March 7, 2008 – 3:37 pmI installed Google Analytics a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve been impressed by the level of detail I have learned about my readers. For example, here’s a map of the states my visitors come from:
Visitors have come from every state in any shade of green (the darker the shade, the bigger the audience). A state in beige indicates that my blog has had no visitors from that state. There’s only one state like that: Wyoming.
I am now on a mission. I will write about Wyoming in every post until a Wyomingite visits my blog. All Wyoming, all the time.
I know, I know. Wyoming is the least populous state, and there are huge swaths of the state that have never seen human activity, let alone a computer. But I am determined to get a visitor from Wyoming.
Did you know that the state mammal of Wyoming is the Bison?
Did you also know that it is delicious?
Imagine that! How many states can claim to have a delicious state symbol? (Answer: two. Kansas and Oklahoma’s state mammals are both bison as well. But I digress. This post is about Wyoming.)
So, if you know someone from Wyoming, and you don’t want to have to read about Wyoming for the next six weeks, tell them to visit my blog. After all, I’ve already written two posts from Wyoming.
Come on Wyoming! Get off your horse, put down your lasso, and visit my blog!

Yes, I’ve had trouble attracting visitors from Wyoming as well.
I like your approach better than mine. Wyoming folks do NOT respond/have no interest in blog posts about married, gay couples performing abortions - UNLESS you cleverly mention big game hunting in the same post.
It’s tricky, but it works.
