The MTA is Never On Time

The MTA has been working on the staircases at the 1st Avenue subway station for the past couple of weeks, making our lives a living hell by forcing throngs of commuters to jam into half as much space as usual, and seemingly doing absolutely nothing to the stairs. In fact, I can’t even figure out what possessed them to do anything to these staircases. They seemed to be working just fine in getting everyone to and from the street before.

Unsurpisingly, I took this picture this morning - February 25th.

It’s been two days. Let’s see how long this goes on.

At W. 4th those closing signs got to be over a year out of date before they finished the “renovations.”

I noticed this when I used that stop over the weekend. I can’t even imagine the impact on rush hour traffic! And the thing that occurred to me was that after they spend 3 weeks? 1 month? “fixing” that side- the other side is going to be closed causing the same problem for an additional several weeks.

I can’t wait to see the results of this inconvenience.

It wasn’t there yesterday evening, around 6. I noticed and was surprised. So they’re actually going through the trouble of removing and replacing it. Hmm.

StuyGirl: I took this picture this morning on the 8th Avenue-bound side. I noticed the “work” on the other side was complete… and the stairs looked exactly the same as they did before.
