Skipping Meals Can Cause Kitten Death

This is an ad in the 1st Avenue station on the L Train:

One clever vandal decided to provide some other warnings about skipping meals. And that’s when all hell breaks loose on this ad.

By the way, what’s the point of this ad campaign? “Skipping meals can cause headaches. Skip all the meals you want and use our product!” Brilliant.

On what planet is a glass full of berries a meal? I see neither cheese nor steak nor a hoagie roll anywhere in that picture.

Are the makers of Tylenol saying that they have the magic weight loss pill with this ad?

I’m glad you posted this, I wondered the same thing. What is Tylenol really trying to convey here?!

God knows one has more than enough time to study the ads (hate that one) while waiting for the L. Last night I walked into that station around midnight and the sign said the next 8th-ave-bound train would be arriving in 28 minutes…the one after that in a zippy 53 minutes. And the platform was already jammed, so I can only imagine how long it had been since one had come by.

My guess is that the fruit and vibrant colors give us a subconscious thought of “health”, and Tylenol is aligning itself with that subconsious thought.

    I could be completely wrong.

Maybe Copyranter will tackle this one.

you have to love the person who was so upset about the kitten remark that they just HAD to reply - with the threat of violence.

This is part of Tylenol’s whole campaign to discourage abuse of their product… It goes hand-in-hand with the commercials that tell people to take the regular dose and no extra. They’re encouraging us to eat so that we don’t get the headache in the first place.
