So Cute! So Cuddly! So Racist!

newstuff.JPG

Is it strange that the day after the most racist ad to air on a network other than BET is broadcast to a national audience, Facebook offers a Panda as a gift?

So, what was your favorite Super Bowl ad? People are saying that this year’s crop was weak. I say there were plenty of diamonds in the rough - like the Doritos mouse ad, the Coke balloons ad, the E*Trade ad with the clown, and - of course - the ad with Donkey Lips.

I know!!! I have no clue how anyone thought this commercial could possibly be more “appropriate” than say, someone wearing blackface and eating fried chicken as a KFC commercial.

haha, I totally forgot about that ad.
I guess it was the 5 beers, 2 glasses of wine, and 3 Mikes Hard Lemonades that would have done it…

Etrade ad was douchey and so was the voiceover guy who was an ASSHOLE. And also incidentally- Steve from Blues Clues. Everytime the Etrade commercial came on, he stood up and bowed.

hmm doritos wasn’t new…so that was a let down. In fact, a lot of the commercials were new. Coke balloons were great and so was the NFL ad with Chester Pitts

I watched that ad in a room full of Korean people. It was a tad uncomfortable.

There were some very fine, aspirational ads, like the Coke and Budweiser ads.

I heard the panda ad while I was washing up in the kitchen. I watched it, open mouthed, and just shook my head. Morons.

Pepsi needs a new ad agency badly. It’s like they think any celeb paired with comedy on par with Dane Cook’s level is somehow advertisement gold. I mean, come on now, using a decade old SNL skit that was already played out by the late 90s? In 2008? It’s the equivalent of a white, suburban dad trying the latest dance moves at his daughter’s prom…I was embarassed for them. They need to give up on ever trying to do hip, or just get a new agency that gets how to be hip.
