Really Bad Ideas
January 28, 2008 – 4:54 pmPaper coffee cup handles: You should never trust two flimsy pieces of paper to protect you from a scalding hot beverage. Plus, these things are sharp and can give you a paper cut if you’re not careful.
This particular cup gave me a burn on my thigh when I lost my grip on it and got a cut on my middle finger this afternoon. That’s a lot of pain, and less caffeine to get me out of my mid-afternoon doldrums. Thanks a lot, jerks.

Yeah, I always ask the person making the coffee to put the first cup in a second cup. This way it isn’t hard to carry at all.

They still make those cups with the handles? Or are those cups left over from 1972?

I can’t help but wonder how a product like this makes in past even the most preliminary stages of approval.
