I’m in Wild Game Country

“Would you like a burger,” the bartender asked me, as I was looking over the menu at a bar here.
“Um, sure,” I told him, having eaten nothing but a plate of nachos and a bagel all day. “Can I have acheeseburger?”
“Sure. Would you like a bison burger, an elk burger, a venison burger, a beef burger, a turkey burger, or a veggie burger?”
Uh… just a burger, thanks.
But seriously, an elk burger? There is a massive elk refuge on the edge of town. So, they want to save the elk, but they also want to eat them? I didn’t think you could have it both ways.

I would have opted for the bison burger. They are lower in fat.

Bison burgers are good but I’m a little uneasy about eating my school’s mascot. But that’s as wild as I’ve gotten with game burgers.
A friend’s stepdad made us elk pizza once. I washed it down with a lot of milk although I know it was only in my head that made it taste so weird.

I’ve had all of those types…I think I prefer the elk.
