“You know what’s so crazy out here,” my dad asked while we were driving through the suburbs of Denver.
My dad has never been to New York City, despite the fact that he has lived less than three hours from this city his entire life. He hates large cities.
“I can’t believe how close together the houses are out here. Your windows would look directly across at your neighbor’s windows.”
I thought about how I can reach out my bedroom window and literally touch the wall of the neighboring building, and half-laughed at his blissful ignorance.
