Facebook is the New MySpace
October 16, 2007 – 3:16 pmAnd unfortunately, that statement appears to be true in every way now. Guys, you know how you get those spam friend requests all the time? You know, the ones you’re afraid to open at work because they will contain a scantily-clad woman trying to sell you “penis pills” or check out her webcam? Well, look what I saw on Facebook today:
Well, I guess Facebook is over. What’s next?

On Facebook, you can Hide unwanted listings. You can’t on MySpace. Hence, Facebook is better.

I still like Facebook better than MySpace although it has the creepy mini-feed. It’s better than getting a headache just trying tot read someone’s profile because of the crappy music and the poorly-chosen colors and patterns.

Everytime I’m on Facebook I feel like I’m in middle school. At what point do we decide that it’s sort of ridiculous to be alerted when friends you’re not friends with anymore make new friends (or asses, apparently), that you probably don’t know or give a shit about?
Ah, useless technology, where would we be without thee?

The applications are filling Facebook up with absolute junk that makes the layouts look awful. I think they need to reconsider their template. Fortunately I’ve declined the opportunity to have a ‘Superwall’, ‘Advanced Wall’, and ‘Zombie Wall’ - whatever they might entail, but I’ve added a few things that I think actually have a purpose, like Facebook chess. Myspace meanwhile, does have it’s plusses - I use it mainly to find obscure music artists and DJs, or link to famous people that I’m interested, that’s much harder on Facebook. I think Facebook is still good for getting in touch with friends, but it’s becoming more and more frivolous every time another application gets added.

I hate it. So sad. Facebook’s become an adult play pen.
