Dirty Sexy Money premiered last night. I don’t think I’ll ever watch it, based on the premise. But it’s definitely one of the most brilliantly-titled shows ever.
TV Exec: So, what’s the name of this show?
Show Creator: Well, you know how people like dirt?
TV Exec: Yes. Go on…
Show Creator: And you know how they like sex?
TV Exec: Well of course! Who doesn’t?
Show Creator: And then we add… well, wait for it… wait for it… money!
TV Exec: Holy moly! I’m sold.
Show Creator: Dirty Sexy Money. I know money can’t actually be sexy, but…
TV Exec: BRILLIANT! This is gonna be a sure-fire hit! Sign right here!
There’s a simple formula here: string two very leading and tempting adjectives together, then add a noun for something that people love to watch on TV. Based on this show’s title, I’m imagining a whole round of spinoffs:
- Muddy Hot Racecars
- Raunchy Easy Teenagers
- Nasty Horny Talking Animals
- Skanky Kinky Mansions
- Filthy Seductive Celebrities
- Smutty Foxy Puppies
- Sexy Sexy Sex

and did you notice that the hot girl in it is a transexual. she’s playing a transexual on the show…but in real life she used to be a dude. nothing against transexuals…but she makes a prettier girl than i do!

I’ll admit I watched the pilot of this show. I was a fan of Peter Krause when he was on SportsNight (didn’t see any of Six Feet Under though), so I figured I’d give it a try.
I honestly don’t know if I like it or not yet.
It’s not a horrible show by any means… I’m just not sure if it’s good either.

I thought the same thing when I saw a billboard for the title of the show yesterday on 3rd Ave. I was like, “Man, I wish I would have thought of that. Brilliant!”
